After 12 played minutes Sericita FC got a freekick which was hit by Cacá Mineiro. The Zong S.C fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Zong S.C's Lauro de Castro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amílton Rossi in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldemar Souza saved Zong S.C from getting behind. 21 minutes into the game, Gernando Bastos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sericita FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zong S.C the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sericita FC's Gernando Bastos got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Raúl Novaes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Maria Loyola skillfully saved the ball. Aníbal Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. José Maria Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Maria Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 30 minutes into the game, Cacá Mineiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. In the 45thth minute of the game Amílton Rossi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zong S.C's Waldemar Souza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. During the 46th minute of the match Gernando Bastos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gernando Bastos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 47 played minutes Sericita FC got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Bastos.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aníbal Paulista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cacá Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waldemar Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Mineiro in the 55th minute of the match. Waldemar Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cacá Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 69th minute, Amílton Rossi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldemar Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugênio Veloso during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Eugênio Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cleiton Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cacá Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Sericita FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cacá Mineiro couldn't finish the play. If Lauro de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Zong S.C's zone, Bernardo de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Souza came out of the goal and Bernardo de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zong S.C's Waldemar Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Mineiro in the 90th minute of play. Cacá Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Waldemar Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cacá Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Sericita FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
