Gissaras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lauro de Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Tarcisio Ceresso hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Flávio Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro de Castro in the 12th minute of play. Flávio Eger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lauro de Castro went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Waldemar Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Monteiro in the 19th minute. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Oscar Monteiro took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Waldemar Souza to make any attempt to save it. Zong S.C's Waldemar Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu de Souza in the 25th minute of play. Eugênio Veloso scored 1-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flávio Eger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 37 minutes into the game, Zong S.C's Elói da Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flávio Eger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Waldemar Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Monteiro in the 45th minute of play. Edgar Damiãos short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Waldemar Souza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romeu de Souza made a kick off. Flávio Eger was a little too slow when Aníbal Paulista got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 1-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Edgar Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gissaras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldemar Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gissaras's Romeu de Souza in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zong S.C's goalie prevented a goal. 63 minutes into the match, Gissaras's goalkeeper Flávio Eger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lauro de Castro. In the 70th minute of the match, Elói da Silva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Flávio Eger saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Flávio Eger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elói da Silva's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Zong S.C's Waldemar Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Albuquerque in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute Edgar Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Zong S.C's Eugênio Veloso got a free kick in the 80th minute. Romeu de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was beautiful to see Gissaras's Diguinho de Amorim in action when he in the 85th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 87 minutes into the match, Gissaras's Edgar Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldemar Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro de Castro got free with Flávio Eger in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Waldemar Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Damião in the 92nd minute of the match. Flávio Eger made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Lauro de Castro sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Gissaras getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Arlindo Albuquerque hit a great ball. Chants of Zong S.C echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Gissaras had held the ball for most of the match.
