Hortêncio Saraiva's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wiliam Dionísio firmly grabbed it by the left post. Raizinhas's Wiliam Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Recife in the 23rd minute of play. Raizinhas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Paulo Renato Recife scored to the left of an out of position Wiliam Dionísio, making the score, 1-0. Hortêncio Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Renato Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Paulão Baptista fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raizinhas's protests and gave Paulão Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Raizinhas's Paulão Baptista got a free kick in the 34th minute. Paulo Renato Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Dionísio having to interfere. Kauan Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Giovani do Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Raizinhas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hortêncio Saraiva got free with Wiliam Dionísio in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Renato Recife was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Raizinhas getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Lúcio Carvalho hit a great ball. Kauan Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wiliam Dionísio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Saraiva in the 68th minute of the match. With a little luck, SANTOS's Giovani do Nascimento got control of the ball when Kauan Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulão Baptista was shown his second yellow card after 73 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
