Lenílson Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis Camargo having to interfere. Olavo de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Esteves in the 18th minute of play. Lenílson Pires came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dênis Camargo could save by the left post. Lenílson Pires scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dênis Camargo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Pernambucano hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. VILA NOVA F.C.'s Lenílson Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vivaldo Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis Camargo having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, VILA NOVA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Severo came free, but Olavo de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Esteves in the 36th minute of play forced VILA NOVA F.C.'s goalkeeper Olavo de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Frédson Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giuseppe Moreno was slow to take the kick. During this time MckarttneyFC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Giuseppe Moreno got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Olavo de Andrade quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 56th minute Ronaldinho Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in VILA NOVA F.C.'s zone, Frédson Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo de Andrade came out of the goal and Frédson Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vivaldo Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Dênis Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frédson Esteves during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, MckarttneyFC's Frédson Esteves got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Lenílson Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. VILA NOVA F.C.'s Sydney Bastos got his second yellow card of the match in the 73rd minute. The referee ordered Sydney Bastos off the ground. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VILA NOVA F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while MckarttneyFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
