Erasmo Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Berger having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Erasmo Vasconcelos put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquim Berger. Erasmo Vasconcelos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Berger having to make a save. Nestor de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Erasmo Vasconcelos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Berger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Joe Bartus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Vasconcelos came free, but Joaquim Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, one of Unidos do Morro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Unidos do Morro. In the 30th minute of the game, Joe Bartus FC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Erasmo Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Joaquim Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Erasmo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unidos do Morro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Unidos do Morro's Nestor de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Abelardo de Godoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Nestor de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joe Bartus FC's Joaquim Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Joe Bartus FC from getting a goal against them. If Cleiton Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Dantas succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 69th playminute. Erasmo Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleiton Sergipano in the 77th minute of play forced Joe Bartus FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustão Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleiton Sergipano in the 86th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Joe Bartus FC's zone, Erasmo Vasconcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Berger came out of the goal and Erasmo Vasconcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucas Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Mendes in the 93rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Unidos do Morro's Gustavo Koehler got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Unidos do Morro played a much better game than Joe Bartus FC and deserved their victory. The Joe Bartus FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
