Domenico Patout tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rômulo Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the FCSB São Bernado SP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rômulo Montenegro couldn't finish the play. When Igor Severo fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paulista FC's protests and gave Igor Severo a yellow card for diving instead. Igor Severo hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. José Pedro Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conrado Rezende's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Pedro Mangueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Rômulo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Conrado Rezende put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of José Pedro Mangueira. After a defensive mix-up in FCSB São Bernado SP's zone, Enrique Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Patout came out of the goal and Enrique Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulista FC's José Pedro Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Montenegro in the 37th minute of play. Enrique Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domenico Patout having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FCSB São Bernado SP's zone, Horácio da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Patout came out of the goal and Horácio da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horácio da Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Domenico Patout having to make a save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conrado Rezende made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Luiz de Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paulista FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCSB São Bernado SP the free kick. Luiz de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. If Rômulo Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Conrado Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th match minute, Paulista FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Santana to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Conrado Rezende fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of José Pedro Mangueira, passed just outside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Horácio da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulista FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Horácio da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domenico Patout breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 78 minutes, Enrique Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulista FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Catarinense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, FCSB São Bernado SP's Conrado Rezende ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind José Pedro Mangueira. José Pedro Mangueira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Paulista FC's José Pedro Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Paulista FC from getting a goal against them. Rômulo Montenegro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 94th playminute. The Paulista FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FCSB São Bernado SP's performance. The match ended with a win for FCSB São Bernado SP.
