Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hortêncio Vides started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Turiba's goal looked a bit too open when Hortêncio Vides came free, but Sandrinho Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 9 played minutes Vila da Penha EC got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Lira. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Carlos Alberto Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Alberto Negri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Luís Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Anderson Souza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sílvio Luís Souto. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Silas Abreu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sandrinho Lima. Turiba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Vila da Penha EC booed when Turiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sandrinho Lima was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Sílvio Luís Souto didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Turiba's Carlos Eduardo Loyola shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vila da Penha EC's zone, Carlos Eduardo Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Eduardo Loyola to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Aílton Fantini notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Turiba's Sandrinho Lima. Sandrinho Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Turiba's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Hortêncio Vides 62 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. After having played for 65 minutes, Aílton Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila da Penha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aílton Fantini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aílton Fantini struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Sandrinho Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila da Penha EC. In the 80th minute, one of Turiba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Turiba. When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, Vila da Penha EC's Rodrigo Veloso got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sandrinho Lima. If Carlos Eduardo Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute Hortêncio Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandrinho Lima made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Aílton Fantini sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vila da Penha EC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
