In the 9th minute Ramiro Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Isaltino Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 14 minutes into the match, Nilmar Cabral notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Araça F.C.'s Alex Rezende. Alex Rezende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Associação Chapecoense getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Duarte Valle hit a great ball. Isaltino Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th match minute, Araça F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Associação Chapecoense's Lucas Rocha broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ramiro Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Nilmar Cabral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Alex Rezende made a huge save. Associação Chapecoense's Diamantino Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaltino Dias in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Ribeiro to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Araça F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Cabral came free, but Alex Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Cabral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Rezende was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. After 55 minutes, Joel Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Associação Chapecoense and the Araça F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Associação Chapecoense's Ramiro Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaltino Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Zonta having to interfere. Diamantino Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
