The referee ignored Mangaratu AD's protests and gave Jarbas Capixaba a yellow card for diving instead. In the last second Reynaldo de Azevedo throw himself and got hold of the ball when Delfim Salgado in the 89thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 93rd minute Enéas Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Gerber received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Reynaldo de Azevedo came out and tried to block the shot, but Júlio Gerber slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 96th minute.
