Mangaratu AD's Reynaldo de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Soeiro in the 6th minute of play. Reynaldo de Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Guilherme Soeiro in the 13th minute. Vito Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mangaratu AD's zone, Luiz Guilherme Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo de Azevedo came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reynaldo de Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Gilvan Abraão sent off a good shot on target. Aloísio Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the game, Duda de Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mangaratu AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inesopolis the free kick. The audience was convinced that Luiz Guilherme Soeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo de Azevedo was relentless in the 50th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Tadeu de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Mineiro in the 80th minute of play. Reynaldo de Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilvan Abraão's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mangaratu AD's goalkeeper Reynaldo de Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mangaratu AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
