The crowd rose to their feet as GALO 13™'s Falcão Messias slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mazinho Mattos. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. After 19 played minutes Boiúna Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Abraão. In the 22nd minute Téo Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The shot was a little too simple and Mazinho Mattos could save by the left post. 38 minutes into the match, GALO 13™'s Paulo Maciel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mazinho Mattos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Paulo Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Téo Vianna made a kick off. In the 51st minute Paulo Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tostão de Castro's late challenge caught a Boiúna Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tostão de Castro helped the player get up and apologised. Tostão de Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Falcão Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute Paulo Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mazinho Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Falcão Messias in the 61st minute of play. In the 70th minute, Falcão Messias made a precise shot to the right of Mazinho Mattos. Boiúna Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Mazinho Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão Messias in the 74th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Falcão Messias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mazinho Mattos was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Hélder Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Falcão Messias in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mazinho Mattos saved Boiúna Futebol Clube from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Paulo Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. GALO 13™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boiúna Futebol Clube's Mazinho Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão Messias in the 88th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Boiúna Futebol Clube's zone, Hélder Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Mattos came out of the goal and Hélder Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mazinho Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão Messias in the 94th minute of the match.
