After 18 minutes Velanie FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ediberto Reis who took care of the corner kick. Júnior Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Velanie FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mané Vasconcelos hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Zé Augusto Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silas Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Recife in the 28th minute of play forced Itaquarari's goalkeeper Armando de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Itaquarari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino Romero to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
