But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateus Gerber couldn't finish the play. Mateus Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ernani Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Recife in the 16th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Mané Vasconcelos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velanie FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube do Careca Futebol the free kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelsinho Recife was the one to do the kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Clube do Careca Futebol:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Velanie FC:s goal. When Velanie FC's Nelsinho Recife in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kléber Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th match minute, Velanie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Cearense to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Clube do Careca Futebol's Emanuel Prata got a free kick in the 76th minute. Ernani Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Abel Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abel Leme fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 86th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Although Clube do Careca Futebol had been in control for most of the match, Velanie FC still came away with the win.
