Nando Pena came out of the goal and Luiz Eduardo Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agostinho Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nando Pena having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Agostinho Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Triângulo Mineiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Agostinho Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nando Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agostinho Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cafu Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Cariacica defense, Agostinho Coutinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nando Pena. The Cariacica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nando Pena should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdemar Bezerra got free with Nando Pena in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Valdemar Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Triângulo Mineiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Bezerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
