Diamantino das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Rezende having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Simão Pena made a kick off. Zé Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 61st minute Simão Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Simão Pena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1.
