Estrela Vermelha Paulista's Duda Lago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Bastos in the 9th minute of play. Afonso Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliézer Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Eliézer Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Centralito defense, Carlos Alberto Secco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonso Prado. The Centralito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Prado should have stopped the shot. Centralito's Afonso Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Secco in the 30th minute of play. Duda Lago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kléberson Velloso in the 38th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Kléberson Velloso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Duda Lago. That made the score 2-1 in the 42 minute of play. Duda Lago made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Kléberson Velloso sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilton Bastos to make the kick off. Afonso Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão Miranda in the 52nd minute of the match.
