Magno Pereira struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Zé Pedro Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golabeira. Geovani Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro Proença having to interfere. When Hortêncio Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Croa's protests and gave Hortêncio Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Croa got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Gomes. Croa's Zé Pedro Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magno Pereira in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Croa getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Vladimir Sanches hit a great ball. Hortêncio Gomes got in the 43rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Marcos Messias handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After 47 minutes of play, Golabeira's Geovani Senna made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Pedro Proença was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Croa players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Golabeira were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dida de Queiroz to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, José Paulo de Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After a rather tough play, Golabeira's Eliseu Martins got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Golabeira's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Coutinho came free, but Marcos Messias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Croa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Barros to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute, João Adolfo Coutinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Messias was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Croa's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Geovani Senna 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. A hard shot 83 in the game by Magno Pereira from a close distance when the talented Zé Pedro Proença managed to make a qualified save. Croa's players were relieved. 83 minutes into the game, Vitório Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
