Delfim Pereira came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ramiro Loureiro could save by the left post. Roberto Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 毛冰泉 in the 36th minute of play. Roberto Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Seco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from 毛冰泉 went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when 毛冰泉 made the kick off in the second half. When Tadeu Mazza fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
