In the 13th minute Léo Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Léo Cordeiro notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Rio Branco EC's José Paulo Cosme. José Paulo Cosme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, NOVORIZONTINO's Cauan Quintal got control of the ball when Zé Carlos de Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in NOVORIZONTINO's zone, Virgílio Valadares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cauan Quintal came out of the goal and Virgílio Valadares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caetano Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Paulo Cosme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Léo Cordeiro's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Zé Carlos de Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cauan Quintal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After 34 played minutes NOVORIZONTINO got a freekick which was hit by Léo Cordeiro. Cauan Quintal was a little too slow when Caetano Chaves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 3-2. Zé Carlos de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauan Quintal having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Caetano Chaves rounded NOVORIZONTINO's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-2. The supporters of Rio Branco EC booed when NOVORIZONTINO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Jonasson hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Carlos de Amaral was the one to do the kick off. Marcus Jonasson's late challenge caught a NOVORIZONTINO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. NOVORIZONTINO's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. There was no doubt that Rio Branco EC were the better team. Rio Branco EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
