With a little luck, NOVORIZONTINO's Dé Correia got control of the ball when Zé Carlos Meireles tried to sneak it across the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, NOVORIZONTINO's goalkeeper Dé Correia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Barral. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Carlos Meireles got free with Dé Correia in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Valladares in the 17th minute of play forced NOVORIZONTINO's goalkeeper Dé Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If João Augusto Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Britto got in the 30th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Geovani Valle handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. José Pedro Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Zé Carlos Meireles could shoot a difficult shot in the 35th minute, which Dé Correia however easily saved by the left post. With an all-out effort, Turiassu's Dé Correia threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alan Valladares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dé Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in NOVORIZONTINO fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michel Britto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dé Correia came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Turiassu's Vitinho Senna. But to his dismay, Vitinho Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Rodriguinho Alvarenga hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Benê Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Geovani Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Meireles in the 64th minute of play forced NOVORIZONTINO's goalkeeper Dé Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Turiassu booed when NOVORIZONTINO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tales Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, NOVORIZONTINO's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Senna came free, but Dé Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos Meireles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Turiassu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NOVORIZONTINO the free kick. A collision led to Turiassu getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Zé Carlos Meireles hit a great ball. After 76 minutes, Augusto Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Turiassu and the NOVORIZONTINO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Turiassu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Macedo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Senna in the 79th minute of play forced NOVORIZONTINO's goalkeeper Dé Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dé Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Barral in the 99th minute of the match.
