After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Vicente Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Recife's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Carlos Meireles got free with Doriva Paranaense in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Sport Recife's Miguel Mendonça got a free kick in the 80th minute. Zé Carlos Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geovani Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Senna in the 86th minute of the match. In the 89thth minute of the game Alan Valladares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Recife's Doriva Paranaense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eriberto Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match.
