The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Avahy's Alberto Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo do Nascimento in the 4th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, Avahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Cléber Souto's late challenge caught a Avahy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cléber Souto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pratigi SC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Cléber Souto hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Senna in the 16th minute of play forced Pratigi SC's goalkeeper Didi Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rubinho de Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Pratigi SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. After having played for 19 minutes, Davi Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avahy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davi Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitório da Rochas short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Didi Abreu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 24th minute, Gustavo do Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pratigi SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When João Augusto Couto came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Pratigi SC fans jumped to their feet. After having played for 32 minutes, Vinícius Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Davi Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pratigi SC's Didi Abreu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enéas Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Avahy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vitório da Rocha made a kick off. After 55 played minutes Avahy got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Jacinto. Avahy's Alberto Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho de Medeiros in the 58th minute of play. Gustavo do Nascimento came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alberto Trigo could save by the left post. Alberto Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléber Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. João Augusto Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo do Nascimento got free with Alberto Trigo in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Vitório da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitório da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Didi Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Wilton Lima fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avahy's protests and gave Wilton Lima a yellow card for diving instead. Pratigi SC's Vinícius Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vitório da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jano Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Didi Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alan Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi Abreu having to interfere. Rubinho de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Trigo having to interfere. In the 99th match minute, Avahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enéas Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. The Pratigi SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pratigi SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
