If Luís Fernando Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 14 minutes, Ademar Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibiatiara FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedrinho Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Albuquerque in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute Ibiatiara FC were awarded a corner. Henrique Dracena went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Henrique Dracena almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Placa's Pedrinho Pinho did a great save. Severino Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeferson Santos having to interfere. Luís Fernando Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Luís Fernando Arantes came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Placa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fernando Arantes couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernesto Netto during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Dadá Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Placa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dadá Paraense couldn't finish the play. Ibiatiara FC's Jeferson Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Paraense in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, Ibiatiara FC's Jeferson Santos got control of the ball when Luís Fernando Arantes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Fernando Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jeferson Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 48 minutes, Belmiro Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibiatiara FC and the Placa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Belmiro Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ademar Pitta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Placa fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Placa's Dadá Paraense looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Dadá Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeferson Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fernando Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeferson Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dadá Paraense's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Luís Fernando Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeferson Santos having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Ernesto Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeferson Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fernando Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Luís Fernando Arantes put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jeferson Santos. In the 85th minute, Dadá Paraense made a precise shot to the right of Jeferson Santos. Ibiatiara FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 90thth minute of the game Dadá Paraense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibiatiara FC's Jeferson Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
