The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliézer Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. The E.C BAHIA fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when E.C BAHIA's Hortêncio Mendonça looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rubens de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato da Silveira in the 16th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Luizão Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horácio Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseu Custódio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horácio Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. Eliseu Custódio came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by E.C BAHIA's Horácio Domingues. But to his dismay, Horácio Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. After 39 played minutes Curinhaem got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Donato. Rubens de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When Marcelinho Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curinhaem's protests and gave Marcelinho Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, Curinhaem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Curinhaem's Eliseu Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Mendonça in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hortêncio Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. Hortêncio Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hortêncio Mendonça blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliseu Custódio having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizão Donato got free with Rubens de Castro in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, E.C BAHIA's goal looked a bit too open when Donato da Silveira came free, but Rubens de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hortêncio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Custódio having to interfere. When Rafa Salles fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C BAHIA's protests and gave Rafa Salles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Rafa Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Rubens de Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curinhaem. Luizão Donato scored 5-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubens de Castro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When E.C BAHIA's Hortêncio Mendonça in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Curinhaem's goalie prevented a goal. After 73 minutes, Aílton Quintal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curinhaem and the E.C BAHIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Curinhaem's Eliseu Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Mendonça in the 74th minute of play. In the 81st minute Donato da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Mendonça in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Custódio saved Curinhaem from getting behind. After 87 minutes, Luan Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the E.C BAHIA and the Curinhaem players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Curinhaem booed when E.C BAHIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luan Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Hortêncio Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the E.C BAHIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Mendonça couldn't finish the play.
