Horácio Velloso was slow to take the kick. During this time Escobar's players had a chance to rest. Lenílson Favoretto thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Juan Moreira, a very annoying self made goal in the 19th minute which led to 0-1. Juan Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doru Bistreanu in the 25th minute of the match. Juan Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doru Bistreanu in the 27th minute of play. Escobar's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Horácio Velloso in the 28th minute. Horácio Velloso made a great header on Escobar's corner, it was just that Galeao EC's Juan Moreira managed to reach the ball for a save. Doru Bistreanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Moreira having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Zézinho Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Clayton Gerson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. In the 42nd minute, Doru Bistreanu made a precise shot to the right of Juan Moreira. Galeao EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Doru Bistreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doru Bistreanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Guto Félix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galeao EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Escobar the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Guto Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Moreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doru Bistreanu's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Davi Branco hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Galeao EC's zone, Clayton Gerson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Moreira came out of the goal and Clayton Gerson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juan Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doru Bistreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Horácio Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 69 played minutes Galeao EC got a freekick which was hit by Renato Castro. Juan Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Gabriel Varela in the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Escobar's Clayton Gerson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juan Moreira. Juan Moreira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Escobar's Zézinho Donatello got a free kick in the 81st minute. After 83 minutes, Doru Bistreanu made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Galeao EC's Juan Moreira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Galeao EC's Juan Moreira got control of the ball when Doru Bistreanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Galeao EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenílson Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galeao EC's goalkeeper Juan Moreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Escobar left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Galeao EC.
