Romário Ortiz came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Rondoniense SC's Zé Augusto Meirelles. But to his dismay, Zé Augusto Meirelles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 14th minute, Renatinho Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedito Porto succeeded in the game's 16th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. 21 minutes into the match, Carauari's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Andrade came free, but Romário Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Luiz Fabiano da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Argomedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Carauari's goalkeeper Romário Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Augusto Meirelles. Lúcio Neiva's late challenge caught a Rondoniense SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lúcio Neiva helped the player get up and apologised. 26 minutes into the game, one of Carauari:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Rondoniense SC a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Zé Augusto Meirelles, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carauari's Romário Ortiz. 2-1. If Zé Augusto Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgilio Argomedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Porto in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Rondoniense SC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Danilo Gerber hit a great ball. Luiz Fabiano da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Virgilio Argomedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgilio Argomedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Aguiar in the 43rd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedito Porto to make the kick off. Zé Augusto Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romário Ortiz having to interfere. Luiz Fabiano da Cunha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Virgilio Argomedo firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 56th minute, Zé Augusto Meirelles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romário Ortiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. With an all-out effort, Carauari's Virgilio Argomedo threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benedito Porto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rondoniense SC's Virgilio Argomedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Quirino in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Fabiano da Cunha could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Virgilio Argomedo however easily saved by the left post. In the 73rd minute, Luiz Fabiano da Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carauari's Romário Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto Meirelles in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Rondoniense SC's Horácio de Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romário Ortiz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Virgilio Argomedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Porto in the 81st minute of play. After 84 minutes, Valdir Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carauari and the Rondoniense SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valdir Aguiar was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Rondoniense SC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Carauari for a fine match.
