In the 12th match minute, soldadinho F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 13 minutes, Cristiano Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mendonca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Mendonca booed when soldadinho F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, soldadinho F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão da Silva came free, but Frédson Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mendonca's zone, Fiori Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Barbosa came out of the goal and Fiori Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th match minute, Mendonca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmo Abreu to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Pedrão da Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frédson Cordeiro. soldadinho F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedrão da Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Fiori Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Cristiano Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mendonca's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frédson Cordeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Mendonca were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristiano Sousa to make the kick off. When Fiori Berger came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the soldadinho F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fiori Berger couldn't finish the play. When Fiori Berger, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 65 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Marcus Barbosa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Cristiano Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mendonca's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frédson Cordeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fiori Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Barbosa having to interfere. Mendonca's Marcus Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiori Berger in the 90th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Mendonca were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant soldadinho F.C side.
