Ruy de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Ruy de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard de Senna in the 4th minute of play. In the 9thth minute of the game João Vítor do Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Exaltacao SS's Luís Fábio Furtado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Wiliam de Mendonça dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Fábio Furtado, 1-0. Wiliam de Mendonça succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 22nd playminute. A collision led to Regina Apostolorum getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Edgard Alves hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute Célio Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Edgard Alves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Regina Apostolorum fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. The supporters of Regina Apostolorum booed when Exaltacao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredão Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

If João Vítor do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, Dedé Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruy de Carvalho. Regina Apostolorum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedé Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Edgard Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fábio Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute Wiliam de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Célio Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Exaltacao SS's protests and gave Célio Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. Ruy de Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard de Senna in the 73rd minute. André Luiz Moura who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Ruy de Carvalho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luís Fábio Furtado came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Regina Apostolorum's João Vítor do Vale. But to his dismay, João Vítor do Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-3. Richard de Senna received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ruy de Carvalho came out and tried to block the shot, but Richard de Senna slotted it home off the left post making it 6-4 in the 80th minute. Ruy de Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when André Luiz Moura sent off a good shot on target. André Luiz Moura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ruy de Carvalho made a huge save. With a little luck, Regina Apostolorum's Ruy de Carvalho got control of the ball when Richard de Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Richard de Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Exaltacao SS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Regina Apostolorum.
