Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Armindo da Costa kicked off to start the match. With his leg Carlos Dante managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Saguoes's Eurico Batista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 9 minutes, Gilberto Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saguoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, MENGÃOF.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Armindo da Costa came free, but Carlos Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Gustavo Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olívio Paraense during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Saguoes's Olívio Paraense got a free kick in the 18th minute. Maurício Cerezo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. João Vítor Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Maurício Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Dante made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Eurico Batista sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, Luiz Gustavo Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Melo, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Carlos Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armindo da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Saguoes's Dinei Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Pimenta in the 40th minute of play. Luiz Eduardo Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute of the match, Armindo da Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carlos Dante saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celsinho Pimenta to make the kick off. Carlos Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute of the match, Cássio Alcântara got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dinei Arruda was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th minute, Armindo da Costa made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Dante. MENGÃOF.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 65th minute, Jerônimo Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Vítor Pinho might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dinei Arruda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The Saguoes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 78th minute Eurico Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 79 minutes on the clock, Luiz Eduardo Arantes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of MENGÃOF.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Saguoes:s goal. 83 minutes into the game, Armindo da Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Carlos Dante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 86th match minute, MENGÃOF.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltazar Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Armindo da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Carlos Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cássio Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Vítor Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saguoes walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
