The supporters of Tabajara booed when SANTA LUZIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Pepillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Pepillo in the 21st minute of play forced Tabajara's goalkeeper Gernando Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Pedro Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the game, Tabajara's João Severo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rui Meireles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 54th minute, SANTA LUZIA's Ivan Pepillo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. 57 minutes into the match, Zé Pedro Schmidt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Meireles. SANTA LUZIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Pedro Schmidt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Rui Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. SANTA LUZIA's Lauro Velasco was substituted for Genílson Souto. There was no doubt that Tabajara were the better team. Tabajara's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
