In the 3rd match minute, VSKG Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Paraense to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, VSKG Esporte Clube's José Maria Meireles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edu Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edu Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Maria Meireles's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Mazinho Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute José Maria Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Aruak S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jorginho de Andrade. After 32 minutes, Magno Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VSKG Esporte Clube and the Aruak S.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to VSKG Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Magno Barbosa hit a great ball. In the 34thth minute of the game José Maria Meireles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aruak S.C.'s Edu Medeiros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kléberson Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 39 played minutes Reynaldo Gerber rounded VSKG Esporte Clube's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Maria Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Luís Gustavo Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute Jorginho de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Gustavo Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Gerber in the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Aruak S.C.'s Reynaldo Gerber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Gustavo Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. VSKG Esporte Clube's Luís Gustavo Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho de Andrade in the 68th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 74 minutes into the game, when Matías de Medeiros put in a rough tackle. In the 74th minute, one of VSKG Esporte Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for VSKG Esporte Clube. Luís Gustavo Catarinense went to the wrong direction when Gonçalo Brito was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Luís Gustavo Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 91st minute, Kléberson Paraense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When José Maria Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the VSKG Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria Meireles couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Gerber scored 3-1 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Gustavo Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
