Maurinho Diniz came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Meia Praia's Gino Pombal. But to his dismay, Gino Pombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 6th minute Osvaldinho de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the A.D.Cerquilhense defense, Osvaldinho de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurinho Diniz. The A.D.Cerquilhense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurinho Diniz should have stopped the shot. A.D.Cerquilhense's Maurinho Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Soeiro in the 12th minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Dante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Maurinho Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amílton Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arlindo dos Santos's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Francisco Soeiro took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maurinho Diniz. Maurinho Diniz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Luiz Gustavo Dante scored 1-6 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurinho Diniz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the game, Grêmio Meia Praia's Francisco Soeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maurinho Diniz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Meia Praia's Luiz Gustavo Dante got a free kick in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-7 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arlindo dos Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maurinho Diniz was a little too slow when Francisco Soeiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 1-8. 61 minutes into the match, Francisco Soeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurinho Diniz. A.D.Cerquilhense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Soeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-9. 68 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Dante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-10. Maurinho Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Maurinho Diniz was a little too slow when Gino Pombal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 1-11. A.D.Cerquilhense's Maurinho Diniz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save A.D.Cerquilhense from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Francisco Soeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Francisco Soeiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Maurinho Diniz, passed just outside the right post. When Osvaldinho de Toledo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 84 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Maurinho Diniz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 85th match minute, A.D.Cerquilhense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Xavier to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by João Carlos Aguiar in the 86th minute really tested Maurinho Diniz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Francisco Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Maurinho Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurinho Diniz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osvaldinho de Toledo went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-12 was the resulting score.
