Henrique Antunes ran back to his position shaking his head. Ezequiel Ceresso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Bruninho Custódio made a huge save. Dagoberto de Almeida hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Martelão FC's Henrique Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th match minute, Santa City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chicão Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. Henrique Antunes had several of the Santa City's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 18 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Bruninho Custódio as he didn't even see the shot coming. The supporters of Martelão FC booed when Santa City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Martelão FC's Orlando Loureiro got a free kick in the 29th minute. Jairo das Neves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arlindo Santos. Martelão FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Henrique Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruninho Custódio having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Santa City's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Antunes came free, but Bruninho Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otávio Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Ferraz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 79thth minute of the game Henrique Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa City's Bruninho Custódio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Goiano charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Goiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Santa City's Bruninho Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Antunes in the 92nd minute of play. Chicão Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Henrique Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Martelão FC had played much better football throughout.
