A collision led to Santa City getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mazinho Salles hit a great ball. Zeca Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Bruninho Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chicão Trevisan during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Chicão Trevisan hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Orlando Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Ferraz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Tocantinea AD's goalkeeper Orlando Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antônio Lara.
