Sampa FC's Elder Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Camargo in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Sampa FC's Diamantino Paiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doni Ramalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Umbuzeiro booed when Sampa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Hudson Brodel from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got Elder Capixaba's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Elder Capixaba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Camargo in the 28th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Sampa FC got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Félix. 41 minutes into the game Hudson Brodel kicked a great long shot which passed Elder Capixaba straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-1. One couldn't see Hudson Brodel behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. If Frank Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Lara made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Ramiro Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elder Capixaba was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Elder Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Camargo in the 54th minute of play. Frank Camargo struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Elder Capixaba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Umbuzeiro. Sampa FC's Vicente Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Umbuzeiro got a freekick which was hit by Igor Vergílio. Vicente Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diamantino Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Doni Ramalho made a huge save. 66 minutes into the match, Umbuzeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Lara came free, but Doni Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Sampa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Camargo came free, but Elder Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, Sampa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Camargo came free, but Elder Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Umbuzeiro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
