After 4 minutes, Álvaro Lima mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Umbuzeiro and the Nacional Atlético Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcinho da Mata was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 6 minutes, Pedro Vasconcelos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Umbuzeiro and the Nacional Atlético Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Umbuzeiro's Doni Ramalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Umbuzeiro from getting a goal against them. Frank Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Furtado having to interfere. Ramiro Dante blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lúcio Furtado having to make a save. If Vladimir Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Frank Camargo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramiro Dante in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Furtado saved Nacional Atlético Clube from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Perez in the 42nd minute of play forced Umbuzeiro's goalkeeper Doni Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Camargo in the 45th minute of the match. In the 48th minute of the match Umbuzeiro got a corner. Nacional Atlético Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hudson Brodel ran over to the corner to take the kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raúl Perez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lucas Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Doni Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Neto in the 57th minute of the match. When Frank Camargo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 66 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Lúcio Furtado was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Camargo in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nacional Atlético Clube's Lúcio Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Camargo in the 81st minute of play. Marcinho da Mata hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Hudson Brodel got in the 85th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Lúcio Furtado and thus it was 0-1. Frank Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Furtado having to interfere. When Frank Camargo came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Umbuzeiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Camargo couldn't finish the play. If Ramiro Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Umbuzeiro walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
