Alex Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Costa having to interfere. After some careless play in the Esporte Clube Vitória defense, Alex Sena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fábio Costa. The Esporte Clube Vitória fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fábio Costa should have stopped the shot. Luís Fábio Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yu Yu Mo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Logan Bain couldn't finish the play. Téo Matorin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Sena was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Yu Yu Mo notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Esporte Clube Vitória's Luís Fábio Costa. Luís Fábio Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 58 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Vitória's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Sena came free, but Luís Fábio Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Esporte Clube Vitória defense, Diogo de Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fábio Costa. But to his dismay, Yu Yu Mo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Luís Fábio Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Sena in the 81st minute of the match. Luís Fábio Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yu Yu Mo in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Esporte Clube Vitória's Carlos Alberto da Mata seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Carlos Alberto da Mata the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Esporte Clube Vitória protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carlos Alberto da Mata had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Vitória's Carlos Alberto da Mata got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute Serafim Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
