Maicon Furlan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ramón Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar de Medeiros in the 34th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.

The wind increased when Charles Vides made the kick off in the second half. Grêmio CDHU's Maicon Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Ceresso in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vai Dá Ruim's Jonathan de Moraes got a free kick in the 58th minute. Ramón Arruda acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Walmyr Sousa. The supporters of Vai Dá Ruim booed when Grêmio CDHU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ailton Barrios received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Maicon Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oktay Kara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Furlan having to interfere. If Ailton Barrios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
