Ahmet Refik Kumukbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Costa having to interfere. Moisés Paraense hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Ahmet Refik Kumukbay took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fábio Costa. Luís Fábio Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. When Cássio Vidal came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Pantanal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Vidal couldn't finish the play. Logan Bain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Luiz Fábio Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, Pantanal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Vidal to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After having played for 58 minutes, Logan Bain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Clube Vitória's supporters crossed their fingers, but Logan Bain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Attilio Benarrivo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Luís Fábio Costa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Esporte Clube Vitória's Sérgio Xavier was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luiz Fábio Paes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Luiz Fábio Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Araújo in the 77th minute of the match.
