The referee ignored Cafeína FC's protests and gave Lúcio da Silva a yellow card for diving instead. Raphael Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Enrique Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cafeína FC's Raí das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruy Quirino in the 20th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raphael Rodrigues got free with Denílson Catarinense in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 23 played minutes Karavela got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Melo. After having played for 24 minutes, Léo Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cafeína FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Léo Saraiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Laerte Sabóia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denílson Catarinense. Karavela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laerte Sabóia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Cafeína FC's Laerte Sabóia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denílson Catarinense. That made the score 2-0 after 38 minutes of play. Guto Rosado hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Enrique Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 59 minutes, Norberto Brodel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cafeína FC and the Karavela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 70 minutes, Guto Rosado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cafeína FC had won after a very even match.
