The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guilherme Bittencourt during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 7 played minutes O PARANAENSE got a freekick which was hit by Guilherme Bittencourt. With a little luck, Vikings Esporte Clube's Enéas Lopes got control of the ball when Nelson de Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute, Cristiano Moura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugênio Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson de Sousa in the 18th minute of play forced Vikings Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Enéas Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dinei Ramos in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugênio Moreno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the game, Dinei Ramos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Eugênio Moreno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nelson de Sousa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Enéas Lopes firmly grabbed it by the left post. Enéas Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nelson de Sousa in the 28th minute. Enéas Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Loureiro in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, O PARANAENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Vander to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Vikings Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Barreto came free, but Enéas Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38thth minute of the game Dinei Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but O PARANAENSE's Eugênio Moreno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, O PARANAENSE's Válter Schmidt got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 47 minutes of play, O PARANAENSE's Nelson de Sousa made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enéas Lopes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinei Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Vikings Esporte Clube's Dedê Lago seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dedê Lago the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vikings Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dedê Lago had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 54 minutes into the game, one of Vikings Esporte Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a long run with the ball, Silvinho Neiva did a trick in the 58th minute in front of Vikings Esporte Clube's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 3-2. An impressive performance by O PARANAENSE's Silvinho Neiva! Kléber Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of O PARANAENSE booed when Vikings Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Nelson de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Enéas Lopes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Filipe de Azevedo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Vikings Esporte Clube's Kléber Vaz got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Enéas Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Loureiro in the 74th minute of play. Enéas Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Loureiro in the 78th minute of play forced Vikings Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Enéas Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Nelson de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enéas Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enéas Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vikings Esporte Clube's Enéas Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson de Sousa in the 82nd minute of play. After 85 played minutes O PARANAENSE got a freekick which was hit by Edson Carvalho. Cristiano Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the game, Nelson de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Enéas Lopes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eduardo Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Moreno having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the O PARANAENSE players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
