The goal made the score 1-0. 31 minutes into the game, Pašo Bolas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sem Esperança's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alviverde FC the free kick. After 31 played minutes Sem Esperança got a freekick which was hit by Pašo Bolas. After having played for 34 minutes, Joélson Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sem Esperança's Luís Paulo Leite couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Alviverde FC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The referee ignored Sem Esperança's protests and gave Romário Varela a yellow card for diving instead. Romário Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Alviverde FC's Olavo Mineiro tried to score from far away in the 99th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sem Esperança fully deserved thier win.
