Guga Gerber was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Firminoos SC! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for PEGARU FC. José Maria Catarinense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alexsandro Romero. 1-0. In the 9th minute, Régis Mesquita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Firminoos SC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Noel Tasso hit a great ball. Alexsandro Romero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Peres in the 14th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Noel Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Firminoos SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noel Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juarês de Brito in the 18th minute of play forced PEGARU FC's goalkeeper Maurinho Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Alexsandro Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Firminoos SC's Noel Tasso got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Noel Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of PEGARU FC booed when Firminoos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enéas Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexsandro Romero made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Hugo Peres sent off a good shot on target. Régis Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Firminoos SC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Caio de Sousa hit a great ball. PEGARU FC's Régis Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th match minute, Firminoos SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Alexsandro Romero successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Régis Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Firminoos SC booed when PEGARU FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Instead of passing the ball, Filipe Prestes made a really hard long shot towards goal. PEGARU FC's Maurinho Tande realized he got lucky when he saw the ball passing the outside of the left post. Régis Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Alexsandro Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to PEGARU FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Kiko Messias hit a great ball. Firminoos SC made a substitution. Cláudio Vergílio replaced Juarês de Brito. Cláudio Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Maurinho Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, PEGARU FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Noel Sousa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caio de Sousa during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Firminoos SC got a freekick which was hit by Caio de Sousa. Alexsandro Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Régis Mesquita in the 82nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Régis Mesquita in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexsandro Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Noel Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in PEGARU FC's zone, Erasmo Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho Tande came out of the goal and Erasmo Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, PEGARU FC's Maurinho Tande got control of the ball when Cláudio Vergílio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maurinho Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. PEGARU FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Firminoos SC for much of the match.
