Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Remo Pena took the kick off in the first half of the match. Rodrigo Gomes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Fabinho Monteiro made a huge save. If Wiliam Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th match minute, Santa Maria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Fabinho Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remo Pena's late challenge caught a Bresser III Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remo Pena helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Santa Maria got a freekick which was hit by Remo Pena. Fabinho Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Peixoto in the 28th minute of the match. Ian de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Mineiro in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bresser III Futebol Clube's Silvinho Rocha got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Eriberto Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Bresser III Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Mineiro couldn't finish the play. After 45 minutes of play, Bresser III Futebol Clube's Wilton Barreto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ian de Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Ademar Peixoto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabinho Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Remo Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabinho Monteiro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Mineiro in the 63rd minute of play forced Santa Maria's goalkeeper Ian de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Remo Pena was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 64 minutes had been played. Remo Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, Santa Maria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Wiliam Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian de Castro having to interfere. Danilo Salgado lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 77th minute, one of Santa Maria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Santa Maria. Santa Maria's Ademar Peixoto got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Eliseu Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lúcio Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Maria's protests and gave Lúcio Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes Santa Maria got a freekick which was hit by Lúcio Nascimento. Eriberto Mineiro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 88th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Raí Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bresser III Futebol Clube's protests and gave Raí Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes Bresser III Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Raí Cardoso. In the 95th minute, Enio Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bresser III Futebol Clube played a much better game than Santa Maria and deserved their victory. The Santa Maria players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
