The supporters of Karpinski EC booed when POLIARENA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Eduardo Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Neto made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Matías Abraão sent off a good shot on target. Giuseppe Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuseppe Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes POLIARENA got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Pontes. 12 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Pimenta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rui Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho do Nascimento in the 16th minute of play forced Karpinski EC's goalkeeper Ernani Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juninho do Nascimento in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernani Netto saved Karpinski EC from getting behind. After 27 played minutes Karpinski EC got a freekick which was hit by Matías Abraão. POLIARENA's Rui Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save POLIARENA from getting a goal against them. After 30 played minutes POLIARENA got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Secco. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Matías Abraão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karpinski EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Matías Abraão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Karpinski EC defense, Juninho do Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernani Netto. The Karpinski EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernani Netto should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Karpinski EC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Pimenta hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute Alan de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Giuseppe Pontes notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Karpinski EC's Ernani Netto. Ernani Netto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

Rui Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Pimenta in the 67th minute of the match. Leandro Branco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernani Netto. Karpinski EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 76th minute of the match Filipe de Souza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernani Netto skillfully saved the ball. Juninho do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Netto having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Alan de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the game, Francisco Sabóia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karpinski EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave POLIARENA the free kick. A collision led to Karpinski EC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Francisco Sabóia hit a great ball. Ernani Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the POLIARENA defense, Carlos Alberto Pimenta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Neto. The POLIARENA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Neto should have stopped the shot. POLIARENA's Rui Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Abraão in the 95th minute of play.
