After 9 played minutes, Sarandy FC's Vítor Koehler shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomás da Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sarandy FC reached it. Sarandy FC's Tomé Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Renato Rosado in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thomás da Costa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 13 played minutes Destroyer got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Valle. Nelsinho Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Valle in the 18th minute of the match. Thomás da Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Renato Rosado in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomás da Costa saved Destroyer from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Valle made a kick off. Tomé Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Tomé Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás da Costa came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Sarandy FC's Tomás Eger. But to his dismay, Tomás Eger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 89th minute, Marcelo Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Destroyer getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Carlos Valle hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Paulo Renato Rosado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomás da Costa was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Sarandy FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
