Valdemar Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Destroyer defense, Pedrão de Godoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomás da Costa. The Destroyer fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomás da Costa should have stopped the shot. 17 minutes into the game, Carlos Valle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Destroyer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fortaleza Esquerda Clube the free kick. After 17 played minutes Destroyer got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Valle. Valdemar Garcia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomás da Costa having to make a save. In the 21st match minute, Fortaleza Esquerda Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Cosme to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Henrique Castro made a precise shot to the right of Thomás da Costa. Destroyer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Henrique Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldão Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Henrique Castro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomás da Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ronaldão Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio Netto in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Pedrão de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar Garcia charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdemar Garcia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valdemar Garcia hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Fortaleza Esquerda Clube's Ronaldão Rocha got control of the ball when Márcio Netto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Fortaleza Esquerda Clube were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão de Godoi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Destroyer's Thomás da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho Freire in the 54th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Wágner Salgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdemar Garcia scored 0-4 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomás da Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. João Paulo Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Pedrão de Godoi made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Destroyer's Thomás da Costa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Márcio Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Thomás da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valdemar Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Fortaleza Esquerda Clube's Henrique Castro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thomás da Costa. That made the score 0-6 after 89 minutes of play. Thomás da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho Freire in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Márcio Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Fortaleza Esquerda Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Destroyer.
