Doriva Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Bueno in the 42nd minute of play. Chapadinha were furious when Remo Netto was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 44 minutes into the game, one of Chapadinha:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
