Luiz Fernando Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Cardozo having to interfere. Francisco Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Furlan in the 20th minute of the match. If Carlos Augusto Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iuri Brito's late challenge caught a Marrinho SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iuri Brito helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes G E Gálatas got a freekick which was hit by Iuri Brito. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fernando Quirino in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Cardozo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Augusto Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Félix having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

With a little luck, Marrinho SC's Amadeu Cardozo got control of the ball when Pedro de Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro de Britos short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Amadeu Cardozo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luiz Fernando Quirino took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amadeu Cardozo. Amadeu Cardozo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Josué Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fernando Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
