Spectators: 7505 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Cibauma AD's Cícero Paiva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dedé Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséias Queirós in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Gerber in the 4th minute of play forced Cibauma AD's goalkeeper Sílvio Prata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilton Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Prata having to interfere. Dedé Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséias Queirós in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, André Luís Lopez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dedé Ribeiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Fluviopolis's Wilton Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Luís Lopez hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Sílvio Prata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anderson Salles in the 30th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Luís Lopez during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cibauma AD getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. André Luís Lopez hit a great ball. With a little luck, Cibauma AD's Sílvio Prata got control of the ball when Wilton Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Fluviopolis booed when Cibauma AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Cícero Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dedé Ribeiro was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Umberto Gerber's late challenge caught a Cibauma AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Umberto Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. Umberto Gerber hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Oséias Queirós hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Cibauma AD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anderson Salles was the one to do the kick off. Sílvio Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Fonseca in the 54th minute of play. Mazinho Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sílvio Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Maurinho Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cibauma AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurinho Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedé Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Wilton Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Maurinho Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Cibauma AD's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Gerber came free, but Sílvio Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fluviopolis's Anderson Salles in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 73 minutes, Anderson Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluviopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anderson Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurinho Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedé Ribeiro having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Cibauma AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Fluviopolis's Mazinho Jacinto tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Wilton Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Sílvio Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mazinho Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Fluviopolis lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
